Wow. This past week has been a complete whirlwind. Exactly one week ago, I had my third child, Maisy. I labored at home from 2:00 AM until about 7:15, when we went to the hospital. I was 9 centimeters when I arrived, and Maisy was born 30 minutes later. I can now cross natural childbirth off of my bucket list! My first two were born with epidurals, and while there's absolutely nothing wrong with that, I wanted to really challenge myself and trust my body. It was such an empowering experience. The second she was born, I looked to my husband and said, "I did it! I can't believe I did it!". She is healthy, TINY, and adorable, weighing in at 6 pounds 4 ounces and measuring 19". We are all so in love, and are working on getting adjusted to being a party of five.
Unfortunately, Micah, my now-middle child, is having serious sleep regression in response to the arrival of his little sister, and is refusing to sleep in his bed. So I was up with him until 1 AM until I finally let him pass out on our bed, transferring him later. He's definitely a mama's boy, so not having mom to snuggle with all the time is tough for him. Thankfully, he loves Maisy, and isn't showing jealousy towards her!
So that's what I've been up to this week! Giveaway May is going strong, and there's been a great response! Keep those entries comin' folks. There's more great stuff to come!
I also blog for a fabulous site called 3 Boys and a Dog, and there's a new feature to the site! There's now a weekly giveaway linky available for bloggers to link up their current giveaways! So whether you're a blogger or a contestant, be sure to check it out and see what's out there :).

ReplyDeleteCongratulations Ashley!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Way to go laboring at home for so long! I had my last one med-free, but I got so bored at home trying to sleep and not being able to I told my husband that we may as well go to the hospital (my water had already broken so there was no question they'd let us in). I hope you're recovering well.
